About Dr Joseph Russo

Born and raised in Woodland Hills, California; now residing in Laramie, Wyoming (or "Laradise" as we call it, for good reason), with my wife Cindy, our little schnauzer, Macy Mae, and a cat named Markie. I hold a BBA from Cal State Northridge and an MBA from the University of Nevada at Reno. My first career was in business, for some 25+ years. In 2007, I shifted gears and entered the helping professions as a mental health counselor. I earned an MA in Educational Psychology and a Doctorate (PhD) in Counselor Education and Supervision. In my spare time I enjoy mentoring young and not-so-young business and non-profit executives as they go about growing their businesses and presence. I also teach part-time at the University of Wyoming, in both the Colleges of Education and Business.

Hope and Change – the 2018 Edition

Perhaps there is hope and change after all.  God knows we didn’t have it from 2008-2016, no matter how much was promised. Turns out, unsubstantiated claims of sexual abuse – indeed, the mere allegation of same – will not win … Continue reading

When The Birds Attack

This piece, in the Wall Street Journal, is simply too good not to post here (with all due attribution to the Journal and the piece’s author, Mr. Kevin D. Williamson).  It sums up so much of what I have been … Continue reading

Stop Reading!

This was published in today’s Daily Stoic and I thought it too good not to re-post here on my Blog. It isn’t my work (duh) but it is my general orientation toward picking, and picking up, the books I read.  … Continue reading

Me Too – the End of America As I Knew It

Last fall, in the United States, a friend of mine was the target of a nasty letter, one that has not been shared with him, asserting all manner of improprieties. It was sent by a group of nurses and doctors … Continue reading

Wanna Make an Impact? Grab a Broom!

Rick Rigsby delivered perhaps the most watched commencement speech ever given, perhaps more so than even David Foster Wallace’s This is Water speech. You can watch it here. And please pay special attention to his admonition that to lead, to … Continue reading
